Myrtlewood

Myrtle is truly like no other wood on earth. Highly prized for its marbled colors and unique ripple effect in the figure, called fiddleback (as seen on the back of a fiddle/violin). Myrtle ranges from a light stone grey to a cool walnut and luminescent golden brown. Myrtle¹s smooth even grain makes it a joy to work with and its durability makes this wood a perfect flooring. Myrtle grows in only two places in the world: Southwestern Oregon and Israel. Maverick Industries is bringing this special flooring to Truckee Memorial Day weekend. Dennis Weaver, owner of Maverick Industries, personally selects the trees he wants to harvest and reserves them up to ten years in advance. Their craftspeople mill, kiln dry and mould the myrtle into quality flooring, with precise tolerances. You will want to see this unique hardwood and compare it to the many others, from around the world, that will be on display throughout the Home Show.
